SHAH ALAM, May 21 — Approximately 151 individuals from seven districts in Selangor were awarded Selangor Darul Ehsan state medals in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
The investiture at Dewan Jubli Perak of the State Secretariat Building today involved recipients from Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, and Sepang.
The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah officiated the conferment ceremony, representing His Royal Highness.
The event also saw one recipient awarded the Pingat Kecemerlangan Sukan Selangor (P.K.S.), an honour presented to sports officials or athletes born in Selangor or residing in the state who have represented Selangor for at least three years and won medals at state or national-level competitions, including the Paralympic Games.
In addition, 21 individuals received the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (P.P.T), awarded to those who have rendered service and demonstrated commendable character in the state.
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C) was awarded to 26 recipients, equivalent in status to the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian and is conferred upon group government officers who have served the state government with distinction for at least seven years.
Meanwhile, 87 individuals received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K) in recognition of their service, loyalty, and diligence in carrying out their duties, as well as for possessing exceptional abilities and noble character.
Tengku Amir also conferred the Pingat Perkhidmatan Selangor (P.P.S) upon 16 individuals, government employees with exemplary service records and conduct who have continuously served the state government for at least 20 years.
