SHAH ALAM, Aug 10 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah today officiated the Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) silver jubilee event.
The 25th anniversary celebration, held at Dataran Kemerdekaan here, included various activities including the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) Merdeka Run, Rakan Muda Kaler Fun Run, and the Youth and Sports Department People with Disabilities Organisation Run. The event was held concurrently with the Shah Alam Car-Free Day.
The three running events were kicked off and joined by His Highness, who was accompanied by state executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi, Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, and Mais chairman Dato’ Salehuddin Saidin.

As a sign of patriotic spirit ahead of Independence Day, Fauzi gave three shouts of “Merdeka”, to raucous applause from attendees.
The event saw other fixings such as exhibits from agencies under Mais, an Eco Free Market, cultural shows, and an interactive quiz for visitors.
