SAR for missing teen on Bukit Changkat Asa enters fourth day

HULU SELANGOR, May 26 — The search and rescue operation for teenager Nur Izzati Humaira Azizul, who went missing while climbing Bukit Changkat Asa, entered its fourth day at 8am today.

Kuala Kubu Baharu Fire and Rescue Station chief Azliza Ahmad said the search scope has been expanded to 0.57 square kilometres, focusing on an 800m stretch of the hill's trail.

"The team is sweeping 50 metres to the left and right of the trail to the peak, and flushing out areas already searched yesterday to confirm the victim is not there," she told Bernama at the incident control post.

Azliza added that 40 rescue personnel are involved today, including teams from the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the Royal Malaysia Police, the Hulu Selangor District Forestry Office, and the Hulu Selangor District and Land Office.

Today's operation also includes JBPM's elite Special Tactical Operation and Rescue Team.

"Drones from the Selangor State Government Disaster Management Unit and two tracking dogs from the JBPM are also supporting the search. So far, the team has turned up no new leads," she said.

Izzati, 19, is believed to have lost her way while descending the hill after deciding to hike alone to get down earlier, feeling hot and tired on Saturday (May 23) at 10.50am.

The victim was last seen wearing a long brown headscarf, a dark green long-sleeved shirt, black long pants, and blue shoes.

Meanwhile, a Bernama check found the victim's family at the incident command post, where they were monitoring the operation. A recitation of Surah Yassin was also being held at the location.
