SHAH ALAM, June 5 — Taylor’s University in Subang Jaya was evacuated today following what the institution called a “security incident”.
A spokesperson for the private university said emergency response protocols were activated and that the institution is cooperating with the authorities.
“The safety of our students, staff and visitors remains our highest priority. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” the spokesperson said in a statement to FMT.
In a Facebook post, it said: “Following a thorough security sweep, the Subang Jaya district police have confirmed that the situation is all clear. Taylor’s Lakeside Campus is safe, and normal operations may resume.”
The incident comes just a day after Monash University in Sunway was evacuated following an alleged bomb threat.
The campus was shut for about five hours while police conducted security checks in the area.
“Following a comprehensive security check, the Subang Jaya district police confirmed the situation is now all clear and the campus is safe to resume normal operations,” Monash University said in a Facebook statement early today.
