Taiwan launches global campaign to boost smart healthcare solutions

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — In a strategic move to foster cross-border collaboration and accelerate digital health transformation, Taiwan’s International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) have officially launched the ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026’ Global Proposal Campaign.

Centred on the theme ‘Designing Healthier Futures Together’, the global initiative invites Malaysian healthcare providers, technology enterprises and industry players to submit innovative project proposals.

The campaign aims to integrate Taiwan’s advanced capabilities in smart healthcare, sports technology and high-end bicycles to co-create scalable wellness solutions tailored for the Malaysian and Southeast Asian markets.

The launch press conference for this year’s campaign was held on May 27.

During the event, TITA director-general William Liu said “Healthy Taiwan” is among the government’s key policy visions.

To drive global industrial synergy and showcase Taiwan’s strengths as an innovative and dynamic powerhouse, he said the campaign had been launched with an upgraded framework aimed at generating strong multiplier effects and positioning Taiwan as a preferred global partner for smart health solutions.

William Liu, director-general of TITA, says that 'Healthy Taiwan' is among the government’s key policy visions to make Taiwan the world’s preferred partner for health solutions.

TAITRA president and chief executive officer Simon Wang said this year’s campaign would be strategically paired with a series of international trade shows and business-matching events.

He said the approach would systematically bring Taiwan’s innovative strengths in cycling, sports technology and smart healthcare to the global stage, while helping enterprises build deeper connections with Malaysian and international buyers, investors and startup teams to create long-term partnerships.

The event was attended by nearly 100 guests, including representatives from the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association and Taipei Veterans General Hospital, as well as enterprises and foreign envoys stationed in Taiwan.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2025 campaign, which attracted 638 proposals from 55 countries, the 2026 edition has expanded in scale.

The organisers aim to secure more than 800 proposals across five continents, reflecting growing international collaboration and the potential of Taiwan’s health and wellness industries.

TITA has commissioned TAITRA to organise the 'Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026' Global Proposal Campaign.

Win US$30,000

The launch press conference also featured a specially curated ‘Health AI Hub’ product experience zone spotlighting three key sectors — cycling, fitness and sports technology, and smart healthcare.

The zone brought together Taiwanese companies including Acer Gadget, Tokuyo, Makalot, Newtown, Gee Hoo, Ideas Lab, AKIMIA and Vast, showcasing forward-looking applications in the global health and wellness industry.

The exhibits featured innovations ranging from low-carbon mobility and smart sports to precision healthcare and healthy ageing management, highlighting Taiwan’s strengths in combining technological innovation with sustainability.

The ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026’ Global Proposal Campaign is open for applications until August 5.

The top three winning teams will each receive US$30,000 (about RM119,000) to support efforts contributing to global health and well-being.

Through the platform, Taiwan aims to strengthen the international presence of its health and wellness industries while advancing global health innovation.
