Eight states, KL to experience thunderstorm, heavy rain, strong winds until 6pm

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — Eight states and Kuala Lumpur are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 6pm today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

In a 3.10pm warning today, it said the weather conditions are forecast to hit Bandar Baharu in Kedah, while in Perak, it involves Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, and Hilir Perak.

On the East Coast, the affected areas are expected to be Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu, as well as Rompin in Pahang.

The same warning was also issued for Petaling in Selangor, while in Negeri Sembilan it applies to Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin, as well as Segamat in Johor.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, severe weather is forecast for Kapit (Song and Kapit) and Bintulu (Tatau).
