KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — A 10-year-old boy is feared to have drowned after he was believed to have been swept away by the current in Sungai Nilam, Sungai Selisek, Hulu Selangor, this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received an emergency call at 1.40pm and a team of personnel from Kuala Kubu Baharu Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the incident location, some 40km away.
"Search work is being carried out by firefighters at the location," he said in a statement today.
The first engine arrived at the location at 2.35pm with a strength of five personnel along with a Fire Rescue Tender, a Hilux, and a boat.
