SHAH ALAM, Aug 28 — State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman held a meeting with Malaysia’s Ambassador to Japan Shahril Effendi Abdul Ghany at the Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo yesterday to discuss strategic cooperation in the field of future technologies.
He said the meeting focused on the aerospace sector, integrated circuit (IC) design, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics, which are capable of strengthening Selangor’s position as a developed state.
“When we look more closely at the fields to be explored, including aerospace, IT, robotics, and so forth, it is clear that the opportunities are vast.
“The state government has a responsibility to ensure that the younger generation is guided from school onwards to choose the right educational streams so they are prepared to venture into new, competitive fields globally,” Papparaidu said.
He added that the discussion also touched on various economic issues, human capital development, as well as bilateral cooperation opportunities between Malaysia and Japan, which can further reinforce Selangor’s status as a developed state.
Papparaidu also expressed his appreciation to the Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo for providing him with the opportunity to attend and have in-depth discussions regarding the future needs of younger generations.
