SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, is offering aid to victims affected by last night’s storm.
Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said victims must lodge police reports and take pictures of the damage as supporting documents in their aid applications.
He said these steps are important to ensure aid channelling can be done quickly and systematically.
“Our officers have been mobilised to identify damaged homes. Victims must lodge police reports and take pictures of the damage so they can be attached to aid applications as official documents,” he told Media Selangor.
He said Yayasan MBI is compiling data on the severe storm last night that affected several areas, including Jeram and Kuala Selangor, as well as parts of Gombak and Ampang.

Azri said aid between RM500 and RM1,000 will be given, depending on the level of damage of each home.
“Although this amount wouldn’t be sufficient to bear repair costs, it is hoped this aid could lighten (victims’) burden,” he added.
Azri also said that Yayasan MBI is always prepared to channel aid to Selangor residents affected by disasters such as floods, fires and storms.
Yesterday, the Meteorological Department issued a warning for storms and heavy rain in several west coast areas including Selangor, which felled trees and damaged property in some locations.
