GOMBAK, Oct 18 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, has a special allocation for food aid and basic supplies to disaster victims.
Its corporate social responsibility head, Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, said they are prepared for any possibilities, especially during the rainy season expected at the end of the year.
"MBI focuses on providing sufficient food and basic supplies. Learning from the 2021 flood incidents, we are always ready to help and provide disaster victims with necessities, including food supplies, bottled water, blankets, and mats.
"I understand the Selangor State Executive Council meeting has set the allocation amount to prepare for the floods, which will be announced by the Menteri Besar soon," he said.

Ahmad Azri was speaking at the Selangor Community Economic Mobilisation Project's (Mekar) opening ceremony at SMK Sungai Kertas National in Batu Caves yesterday.
He added that MBI is committed to safeguarding the people's welfare, especially by providing immediate assistance to alleviate disaster victims' burdens.
"For example, in September, we allocated RM50,000 in immediate assistance to the storm victims from three villages in the Beranang mukim.
"The assistance included basic necessities, food supplies, roof replacements, and other essential items," Ahmad Azri said.
Aside from disaster assistance, MBI also allocated significant funds for the education sector, community programmes, mosques, prayer halls, incentives for Hajj pilgrims, and food basket donations to the needy.
