SHAH ALAM, April 25 — Repair works for a pipe burst at a pump house in Taman Muda, Cheras which affected 15 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region were completed at 2am today.
In a statement released today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) Corporate Communication head Elina Baseri said water supply has been distributed to the consumers' premises in stages and is expected to fully recover at 4pm today.
She said the water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location and distance of consumers’ premises.
“Alternative assistance through water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption.
“Air Selangor is seeking the consumers’ cooperation to practise social distancing and wear face masks while collecting the water supply from the water tankers,” she said.
The consumers who have received water supply are also advised to allow the water to flow from the tap until it is clear before daily use.
Air Selangor also reminded prudent use of water to ensure the smooth recovery process in the affected areas.
Yesterday, Air Selangor informed that emergency repair works following a pipe burst incident at a pump house in Taman Muda, Cheras that caused an unscheduled water supply disruption in 15 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region, were implemented at 3pm and expected to be fully completed at 3am today.
