Tronoh rep Paul Yong gets 13 years' jail, whipping for raping maid

IPOH, July 27 — Tronoh state assemblyman Paul Yong Choo Kiong was sentenced to 13 years’ jail and two strokes of the cane by the High Court here today after he was found guilty of raping his maid in 2019.

Debt collector escapes gallows, gets 16 years jail, whipping for drug possession

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 23 — A debt collector escaped the gallows for trafficking in methamphetamine five years ago, but will be in jail for 16 years and given 20 strokes of the cane instead for drug possession.
