KANGAR, Sept 26 — The states in Peninsular Malaysia are currently free from cases of human rabies, but preventive measures through vaccination programmes continue to be conducted by the Department of Veterinary Services in high-risk areas, particularly in states bordering international frontiers.

PUTRAJAYA, April 11 — The Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) has activated surveillance and sampling to detect rabies in stray dogs in an area of one-kilometre radius from the index case following the death of a man in Petaling district, Selangor, confirmed from rabies, last April 4.
