KEPALA BATAS, Sept 20 — The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) expects the shortage of local white rice supply in the market to stabilise within a month following various intervention measures and continuous monitoring from the government.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — The increase in imported white rice prices has been attributed to the consumer’s shift toward locally-produced white rice, causing its shortage.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 13 — Rice millers, wholesalers and retailers have committed to implementing the Local White Rice Special Programme (PKBPT) throughout the country to ensure the stability of the local white rice supply in the market.
