KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 — A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale was detected in Luzon, the Philippines, at 8.49am today.

MANILA, July 27 — A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippine island of Luzon on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said, with strong tremors felt in many areas including in the capital Manila.
