PUTRAJAYA, Feb 20 — Two non-governmental organisations (NGOs) today lost their final bid to seek a declaration that the existence and establishment of vernacular schools and the use of Chinese and Tamil languages in those schools are unconstitutional.
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 — Two organisations are seeking leave to appeal to the Federal Court against the Court of Appeal's dismissal of their application to declare the establishment and existence of vernacular schools and the use of Mandarin and Tamil in such schools as unconstitutional.
The four organisations are Islamic Education Development Council (Mappim) and the Confederation of Malaysian Writers Association (Gapena), Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) and Ikatan Guru-Guru Muslim Malaysia (I-Guru).
