BNM imposes penalties on BIMB, Bank Rakyat, BSN for non-compliance

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has imposed an administrative monetary penalty (AMP) totalling RM3.445 million on Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (BIMB) for non-compliance with the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 (IFSA) and the relevant policy documents.

BIMB expects Malaysia to post first quarter GDP growth of 5.6 pct

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth for the first quarter of 2023 (1Q 2023) is expected to record 5.6 per cent versus five per cent in last year’s corresponding quarter, said Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (BIMB).
