SHAH ALAM, June 2 — Temporary repair works have been mobilised to assist residents in the Dusun Tua constituency after a recent storm caused structural damage to homes and community facilities in Kampung Paya Seberang, Batu 16, Hulu Langat.
Dusun Tua state assemblyman Datuk Johan Abd Aziz said immediate allocations had been channelled and swift action taken to ensure the safety and comfort of affected residents.
In a Facebook post, Johan said visited the home of an elderly resident known as Cik Kecik, whose house was struck by a fallen durian tree.
“I have arranged for immediate action to carry out temporary repair works for the family’s safety and comfort.
“I also gave my commitment to help conduct comprehensive repair works on the damaged roof in the near future so that Cik Kecik can return to living a more comfortable and safe life,” he said following the visit yesterday.
Johan also visited Surau Nur Ramadhan, which suffered significant roof damage during the storm.
He announced the channeling of initial contributions for immediate remedial works to ensure the surau could be used again by worshippers as soon as possible.
“For more comprehensive repair works, I will assist in submitting an application through the Program Selangor Penyayang as soon as the applications reopen, so that this surau facility can be restored more perfectly.”
He expressed hope that the immediate assistance and efforts by his state constituency office would alleviate the burdens faced by the affected community members.
