SHAH ALAM, June 1 — The Kajang state constituency's community service centre will distribute special aprons to hawkers and food outlet operators through the Clean Kajang, Kajang in My Heart (KBKD) campaign.
Kajang state assemblyman David Cheong said the initiative aims to raise awareness of cleanliness, strengthen the image of hawkers and create a more organised business environment.
The aprons will be distributed to hawkers and food business operators around Kajang as a gesture of support and appreciation for their role in maintaining cleanliness and enhancing the town’s image.
He said that cleanliness is not only important for ensuring customer comfort but also for shaping a positive image of both businesses and the town as a whole.
“These aprons will be distributed to hawkers and food outlet operators throughout Kajang as a sign of support and appreciation for those who work together to maintain its cleanliness and image,” Cheong said in a Facebook post.
He added that the apron distribution also serves as a symbol of shared commitment between traders and the community in advancing the town’s cleanliness agenda.
The involvement of the business community is crucial, as traders interact directly with the public daily.
“The participation of the business community is very important, given that they are among the groups that engage directly with society every day,” Cheong said.
The initiative not only enhances the appearance of hawkers but also encourages consistent hygiene practices among food operators.
He noted that the KBKD campaign is designed to cultivate a culture of cleanliness and promote shared responsibility to ensure that Kajang remains clean, pleasant, and vibrant.
Cheong said that he hopes the campaign will receive strong support from traders, hawkers, and local residents, so that cleanliness continues to become part of everyday practice.
