SHAH ALAM, May 21 — Media Selangor Sdn Bhd recorded 3.78 million visitors as of April this year, representing a 79 per cent increase compared to the total readership recorded throughout last year.
Its chief executive officer Mohamed Fareed Mohamed Ashaaree said the encouraging achievement was due to various improvements implemented by the company since the beginning of this year.
“Based on the initial feedback so far, many people are interested in Media Selangor’s new products, and many have also praised the work produced by Media Selangor following the many improvements introduced.
“I have also presented the latest audience and readership data, which has shown an increase. We recorded nearly a 79 per cent rise in readers visiting the Media Selangor portal,” he said.
He was speaking after attending the Media Selangor stakeholder engagement ceremony organised at a hotel in Section 7 today.
During the event, Fareed and Media Selangor editor-in-chief Noor Azam Shairi also presented the long-term plans and direction of the state government’s official news agency.

The event was held to enable stakeholders to participate in Media Selangor’s planning and strategic partnerships.
He said that the company is actively expanding its business activities through various services, including event management, training, media consultancy, and commercial display products.
“Besides being the official media agency, we also provide services such as event management, training, and media consultancy, and we also offer crisis management services and others.
“For next year, we plan to expand even further so that Media Selangor can continue growing its business activities,” Fareed said.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre's corporate affairs head Hasnu Rizal Zakaria praised Media Selangor’s new approach, particularly in helping to highlight the image and branding of companies.
“I can see there are many new improvements. When we create segments like this, the message we want to deliver becomes more accurate. More sources and perspectives from other parties can be brought together.
“I hope Media Selangor will continue efforts like this because we need media partners. With the platform, we do not have to go elsewhere, as we will always support Media Selangor,” he said.

KDEB Waste Management's corporate communications assistant general manager Mahfuzah Muhammad Tarmidi said Media Selangor now has its own unique dynamism through the introduction of various new services.
She noted that the service packages offered are highly competitive compared to other media agencies and are capable of helping to expand the growth of businesses and related agencies.
“I think the packages offered are very competitive and the opportunity should be fully utilised. I am confident that the reporting is very transparent and clear, as the services offered are also very helpful to us,” Mahfuzah said.
