SHAH ALAM, May 11 — Selangor will launch the inaugural AI and Semiconductor Convention (AiSEM@Selangor) at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) in October, featuring conferences, expert forums, industry exhibitions, and recruitment drives as the state positions itself as a regional hub for hi-tech investment.
State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said preparations for the programme are underway, with the event agenda currently under review.
“This morning, I just had the briefing from Invest Selangor about the agenda (for) SIBS, which will be coming in October, including the semiconductor and AI conference,” Ng said during a press conference for Wesak Day at the State Secretariat Building here today.
He added that for AiSEM@Selangor, “there will be a series of forums (in) which we have been inviting experts in AI and semiconductors to share their views about the market outlook of semiconductor in AI”.
He also said the convention will have industry players showcasing their technologies and capabilities.
Both SIBS and AiSEM@Selangor are set to strengthen Selangor’s position in the global semiconductor supply chain, while also addressing talent needs via targeted recruitment initiatives, Ng explained.
SIBS will be held from October 14 to 17, featuring innovative segments including AiSEM@Selangor.
