KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Several areas in the Klang Valley have been hit by flash floods due to continuous rain since noon.
Social media posts indicated that in Selangor, Section 51, Jalan 223, areas in PJS 2, 4 and 6, Taman Medan, Sri Manja and Buana Perdana in Petaling Jaya have been inundated, while Ampang and Sungai Besi in Kuala Lumpur are flooded.
Flash floods were also reported in Section 7, Section 13 and the area behind Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Shah Alam, along with Bukit Raja and around Kapar in Klang.
Several areas in Gombak and Batu Caves are also inundated, and there have been reports of fallen trees.
The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds at 7.20pm that is expected to last till 10pm nationwide.
