SEPANG, May 4 — The 10 Malaysian activists who were previously reported to have been abducted while participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 have been confirmed released and are now in Istanbul in safe condition.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the update was obtained through continuous monitoring via daily reports from the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC).

Such monitoring is crucial to ensure that every Malaysian involved in the humanitarian mission remains safe at all times.

“Although the activists faced anxious moments, they continued to demonstrate strong resolve to carry on their struggle in assisting the people of Gaza, who are still facing a prolonged blockade.

“This is not a performance or theatrics, but a genuine movement involving people around the world who want to see humanitarian aid reach the people of Gaza,” he said during a special media conference on the mission's latest developments at the SNCC today.

Amirudin also described the actions of the Israeli regime against GSF 2.0 as going beyond acceptable administrative conduct, given that the aid being carried by the flotilla had no connection to any armed conflict.

He added that developments surrounding the mission are being closely monitored and regularly updated to ensure the safety and welfare of the Malaysians involved.

Meanwhile, the Menteri Besar called on Malaysians to continue offering moral support and to take pride in the spirit and courage shown by the activists in carrying out the humanitarian mission.

On Thursday (April 30), the media reported that 175 activists, including 10 Malaysians participating in GSF 2.0, were abducted and taken to Israel using vessels belonging to the regime.

Among those involved are former journalist Zainal Rashid Ahmad, Osman Zolkifli, and Jihan Alya Mohd Nordin (on board the vessel Eros 1), as well as Hazwan Hazim Dermawan, Mohd Hanafi Mohd Salim, Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri Kamaruzaman, and Norhelmi Ab Ghani (on board the vessel Bianca BCN).

Also involved were Mohd Redzal Amzah and Muhamad Muhsin Zaidi, who were on board the vessels Freia and Marea respectively, as well as Mohd Shamsir Mohd Isa (on board the vessel Esplai).

They, along with 165 other activists, were later released at the Ierapetra Port before being transferred to the Heraklion International Airport in Crete, Greece, to be flown back to their respective countries.
