SHAH ALAM, April 30 — Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, has allocated RM1.5 million for Aidiladha sacrificial rites this year.
Yayasan MBI chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the funds will be used to buy sacrificial cows for distribution to eligible recipients, which will be managed by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) and state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim’s office.
“We aren’t holding a specific programme, but we’re allocating RM1.5 million to buy sacrificial cows. Last week, we launched (this allocation) and vouchers will be given to those who applied.
“Applications submitted will be looked at first, and besides mosques and surau, (the sacrificial cows) will also be distributed to non-governmental organisations,” he said when met at a zakat wakalah handover ceremony at Bangunan Darul Ehsan here today.
Previously, Azri said the allocation would be distributed to community service centres according to established quotas.
