SHAH ALAM, April 29 — As many as 7,702 Rumah Idaman Selangor units under Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, have been completed as of March, said state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah.
He said this involves the Idaman Kajang 2, Idaman BSP, Idaman Bukit Jelutong, Idaman Melur, Idaman Taman Air Manis, and Idaman Cahaya developments.
“Among areas still under construction are Idaman Kwasa, Idaman Greenwoods, Idaman Abadi Heights, Idaman Elmina, Idaman Alam, Idaman Saujana, Idaman Putra, Idaman Pekan Bangi Lama, and Idaman Serene Heights… (while) 27,979 units are being planned, for a total of 50,175 Rumah Idaman MBI units that will be available for Selangor residents,” he added.
He was responding to a question by Pelabuhan Klang assemblyman Azmizam Zaman Huri about the number of Rumah Idaman Selangor units completed, in progress, and to be built, from 2023 to now, during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.
Borhan also said the state government, through the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), launched the Smart Sewa Scheme to help buyers who aren’t eligible for standard housing loans.
“The Smart Sewa Scheme has a rental concept for a maximum of five years for recipients to accumulate savings and achieve financial stability, especially for young couples starting families,” he added.
He also said LPHS has collaborated with the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) to help those facing difficulties obtaining housing loans.
“AKPK would identify causes of recipients’ failure to obtain housing loans by providing free assistance in terms of restructuring recipients existing financing and loans, for smarter, more stable financial management,” Borhan added.
