SHAH ALAM, April 27 — The state government has introduced the Selangor Platform (PLATS) Hotline to help entrepreneurs navigate economic uncertainties with faster access to assistance and business solutions.

State executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the initiative serves as a centralised channel to coordinate the delivery of various Selangor entrepreneurship programmes and assistance in a more organised and responsive manner.

“This hotline (017-6481709) functions as a single point of contact for enquiries, complaints, issue resolution, as well as access to financing, training, and entrepreneurship programmes.

“Through this approach, every need of entrepreneurs can be addressed quickly, in a coordinated and effective manner,” he said during a media conference at the State Secretariat Building yesterday.

Meanwhile, Najwan said the PLATS ecosystem continues to strengthen as a comprehensive support platform covering digitalisation, financing, training, and networking, with 90,822 entrepreneurs registered to date.

Among its key initiatives is PLATS Biaya, which offers financing of up to RM3,000 interest-free with a repayment period of up to 12 months, with applications processed in as little as 48 hours.

He added that the implementation of U-PLATS will continue to be enhanced through training programmes, capacity building, and digitalisation efforts to boost sales capabilities and reduce the reliance on physical operating costs.

“Participating entrepreneurs will receive the Point of Sales Platform Selangor (PosPLATS) device free of charge to support cashless transactions,” Najwan said.

In the long term, the state government is focusing on transforming business models and strengthening supply chains, including strategic collaborations with major suppliers and regional ASEAN markets.

“I am confident that through this approach based on stabilisation, strengthening and transformation, Selangor can build a more inclusive, resilient, and highly competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem,” he said.

The councillor emphasised that the state government will also continue to ensure that micro-entrepreneurs are not left behind amid economic changes.

“The state government will continue to ensure that no micro-entrepreneur is left behind in the wave of economic transformation,” Najwan said.

In 2023, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) or MBI introduced the U-PLATS programme to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses digitally, in collaboration with 12 local authorities.

Training modules include introductions to entrepreneurship, social media and e-commerce, as well as digital content creation.
