JAKARTA, April 27 — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has reshuffled his cabinet, appointing new ministers and senior officials to strengthen key portfolios.
ANTARA news agency reported that the All-Indonesia Workers Union Confederation's chairman Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat was appointed Environment Minister and Head of the Environmental Control Agency (Badan Pengendalian Lingkungan Hidup/BPLH), replacing Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.
Hanif was, in turn, appointed Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, taking his oath of office today.
In other appointments, former Army chief Dudung Abdurachman was named Presidential Chief of Staff, replacing Muhammad Qodari, who was appointed head of the Government Communications Agency.
Meanwhile, former Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding was appointed head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.
Former Presidential Communications Office head Hasan Nasbi was appointed Special Presidential Advisor for Communications.
Prabowo presided over the oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed officials today.
