SHAH ALAM, April 26 — Upgrading works on Jalan Iskandar in Meru, Klang, have now reached 85 per cent completion and are expected to be fully completed by mid-May.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said the upgrading project, which began in February, utilises the Precast Systematic System (SPS) technology to ensure a stronger road structure and more cost-effective implementation.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), the project, which costs RM1.25 million, is expected to be completed in early May and will ease travel for residents of Bukit Kapar and Meru,” he said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) director Shukri Ishak said the road-upgrading works, which had experienced subsidence issues, are now in the final phase of implementation.
The installation of panels using SPS has been fully completed, while works to install the capping beam are currently in progress.
“The SPS panels have now been fully installed, and the installation of the capping beam is ongoing.
“Before the upgrading works began, JKR carried out utility works to detect cables and to relocate water pipes belonging to Air Selangor,” he said.
