SHAH ALAM, Sept 12 — The 11th Selangor International Food and Beverage Expo (SIE F&B), which will be held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit next month, is targeting RM350 million in potential transactions.

Invest Selangor Bhd said in a statement that the event will feature over 200 booths, showcasing the latest trends, innovations and consumer demands driving the global F&B sector.

"This year's expo will welcome a broader mix of local and international trade buyers. The focus remains on fostering business growth and supporting SMEs by providing a strategic platform to elevate their brand visibility and connect with new markets," it said today.

The state investment promotion agency said to date, 88 per cent of the booths have been secured, with 68 per cent taken up by Malaysian firms and the remainder by international exhibitors, including from Brunei, China, Kenya, Korea, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Uganda and Vietnam.

Last year, the event recorded potential transactions worth RM300.41 million. Since its inception in 2015, SIE (F&B) has hosted over 2,400 exhibitors from 89 countries, generating more than RM1.83 billion in potential transaction value.

Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris said the expo has proven throughout the years to be an excellent platform for Malaysian F&B businesses to elevate their offerings, connect with international partners, and showcase innovation.

"With strong representation from Asean nations such as Thailand and Indonesia, the platform opens doors for collaboration, joint ventures, and market expansion throughout the region."

Invest Selangor CEO Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris says the expo is an opportunity for sellers to showcase their innovation.

Invest Selangor said SIE F&B has built a strong reputation as a key platform for trade professionals, industry leaders, and policymakers to network, exchange insights, and explore business opportunities.

This year’s expo will debut SIE F&B Bizmatch, a digital business matching platform aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of B2B interactions.

SIE F&B 2025 will also feature a comprehensive lineup of parallel events, including networking sessions, international market exploration talks, industry linkages, product launches, MoU signings, culinary demonstrations, food showcases, hosted buyer meetings, and a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) interview series.

SIE F&B is one of the six core components of SIBS, the others being the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK), the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC), the Selangor Asean Business Conference (SABC), the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS), and the Selangor International Care Summit.

SIBS 2025, the state's flagship business and investment summit, will take place from October 8 to 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and is expected to draw over 50,000 visitors and feature more than 700 booths.
