KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman sustained a head injury today, believed to have been caused by a rock thrown by an unidentified individual during a tense enforcement operation in Kampung Sungai Baru here.
The incident occurred as authorities carried out a court-ordered operation to cut off the electricity supply and demolish several houses in the area.
According to sources, police on site instructed residents gathered at the scene to disperse, but some of them reportedly refused to comply and continued to provoke officers, leading to heightened tensions.
Photographs of Sulizmie’s head injury have gone viral on social media, prompting concern and condemnation from the public.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) deputy director Datuk Mohamad Suzrin Mohamad Rodhi said the General Operations Force (GOF) is on standby.
“If we receive a request from the contingent, the GOF will certainly assist,” he told a press conference after a KDNKA event at the Central GOF Brigade headquarters in Cheras today.
