SINGAPORE, Sept 10 — The Israeli airstrikes in Doha on Tuesday are a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, said a spokesperson from Singapore’s Foreign Ministry (MFA).
It said the attack was an egregious and dangerous action that undermines ongoing negotiations on a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza, as well as Qatar’s tireless efforts to secure such an agreement.
“Singapore stands in solidarity with Qatar,” the MFA said in a statement today.
Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari said Qatar strongly condemned the attack, which targeted residential buildings housing several members of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Doha.
“While the State of Qatar strongly condemns this assault, it confirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behaviour and the ongoing disruption of regional security, nor any act that targets its security and sovereignty,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).
