KUALA SELANGOR, Sept 6 — The Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) has been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the nation's largest tropical fruit farm and the largest agro-tourism centre.
The certificate of recognition was presented by MBOR representative Menaga Vadamalai to Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari and state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim at a ceremony today.
Amirudin said the recognition was not only due to the cultivation carried out, but also the meticulous maintenance to ensure the fruit trees remain healthy, alongside the agro-tourism activities offered.
With an area spanning over 1,000 hectares, SFV stands as a symbol of Selangor’s success in integrated agricultural development, while at the same time strengthening food security for the people of the state and Malaysia as a whole.
“So I believe this is not merely recognition of what we have planted, but also of what we have been able to maintain. We have nurtured it into becoming the largest tropical fruit farm in Malaysia.
“It is also part of our food security efforts. Among what we plant here are vegetables, grain, maize, and onions, which we have also begun cultivating,” he said.

During the event, Amirudin flagged off more than 800 participants of the Ehsan SFV Fun Run 2025, which featured five-kilometre and three-kilometre categories within the farm grounds.
The Menteri Besar noted that SFV receives an average of 1,000 visitors daily, amounting to around 30,000 visitors each month to the integrated agro-tourism project developed by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS).
“Financially speaking, SFV has also generated returns. This allows us to upgrade existing facilities here to further increase attractions for residents of Selangor as well as visitors from outside the state,” he said.
SFV is an integrated agro-tourism project developed by PKPS with the aim of positioning Selangor as a hub for agriculture and tourism driven by farming.
Initially, it functioned as a commercial tropical fruit orchard before expanding into a large-scale agro-tourism destination combining recreation, education, and modern agricultural research.
SFV features tropical fruit orchards with more than 30 varieties of fruit, including durian, jackfruit, rambutan, pineapple, guava, starfruit, and coconut. It also offers agro-tourism attractions like a mini zoo, a rabbit park, a deer farm, tram rides, cycling, and water-based activities.
