SHAH ALAM, Sept 5 — State executive councillor youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Najwan Halimi, together with three staff members from Tourism Selangor and the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), successfully reached the summit of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah yesterday.
The Selangor State Secretary’s Office stated that the expedition was made even more meaningful as it was recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for reciting a pledge at the highest peak in Malaysia.
“The challenging expedition, made tougher by rain, began at Timpohon Gate and took around six hours to reach Laban Rata before continuing with the final 1.5km ascent to the summit.
“The climbing team will also descend a 2.5km trail and continue the remaining 6km the following morning at 8am. Congratulations and well done,” it said on its Instagram page.
In addition to the pledge reading, the delegation also raised the Visit Selangor Year 2025 flag at the country’s highest peak.
