MyCreative Ventures launches fund to support social enterprises

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) has launched the Social Enterprise Fund (SEF) to support creative social enterprises in Malaysia through targeted financing and capacity development.

The government-owned investment company said the fund, which opened yesterday, aims to strengthen creative entrepreneurs while delivering measurable social and environmental benefits to target communities.

The SEF is divided into two tiers. The Early Stage offers grants of up to RM100,000 for enterprises operating actively between one and three years.

The Growth Stage provides up to RM1 million in funding, structured as 80 per cent revenue-sharing and 20 per cent grant, for enterprises with more than five years of operations.

Applicants must be legally registered businesses with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), have been operating for at least one year, and must not be bankrupt or blacklisted.

“Proposals must include comprehensive documentation, covering company details, financial information, project data usage and relevant industry background,” MyCreative said in a statement.

More information, including guidelines and application checklists, is available on the MyCreative website.
