GOMBAK, Aug 31 — Malaysia’s progress after 100 years of independence will be translated through various state economic plans, including the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said it is time that Selangor and Malaysia resume dictating the nation’s steps forwards, after several years of uncertainty.
“That is the aim; that is among our aspirations and that of many Malaysians. We must think about it now and there must be targets. Thirty years is not a long time.
“God willing, (that aspiration) will be translated in our plans, including the RS-2 and other economic plans that we will submit,” he said.
He was met after officiating the Merdeka Fun Run at Dataran Niaga here today.
On Friday, Amirudin, when delivering his national sermon, said Selangor and Malaysia must emerge from the shadow of fear, especially as its 100th year since independence approaches in 32 years.
He said that bravery can only be achieved with the people’s understanding and knowledge, as well as our abilities in science and technology fields.
Amirudin said he dreams for Selangor and Malaysia to create a generation that can fight for the truth and shirk the wrong by the nation’s centenary Merdeka.
