PUTRAJAYA, Aug 21 — The Selangor International Care Summit 2025 (SICS), to be held in October, will highlight interesting insights as Malaysia is to become an ageing nation by 2030.
State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said the Selangor government has invited local and foreign speakers, including United Nations representatives, to discuss matters related to the phenomenon.
“In the Care Forum, we will spotlight topics that involve various stakeholders like policymakers, economic perspectives, welfare, and such.
“We have also invited speakers from Australia, Indonesia, and UN Women. I think this discussion would be interesting for us preparing to become an ageing nation by 2030,” she told reporters after officiating the Women Empowerment Carnival, organised by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia students, here today.

Anfaal added that registrations to join the Care Forum are still open, with early bird rates at RM200 per person until August 31, after which it will increase to RM300.
She said over 50 per cent of SICS booths have been reserved by various agencies, including local and foreign higher learning institutions.
“My hope is for many attendees to find out more about the care economy and opportunities for industry players as this sector has significant economic value,” Anfaal added.
The SICS is a main event under the 9th Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), which gives specific focus on care economy development.
The pioneering SICS highlights four main components — Care Forum, Care Expo, Care Business Matching, and Care Townhall.
The SIBS will be held from October 9 to 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
