SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — More than 8,000 local and foreign participants ran in the 35th PJ Half Marathon yesterday, held at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) compound.
The MBPJ media secretariat in a statement said the iconic event drew 250 foreign runners from 34 countries, mostly from Japan and Singapore (30 participants each), followed by the Philippines (25), the Netherlands (20), and India (20).
“The presence of these foreign runners once again boosts the PJ Half Marathon’s reputation as among the most prestigious running events in Malaysia, and continues to receive global recognition,” it said.

A prize pool worth RM60,200 was up for grabs across all five categories.
The PJ Half Marathon was jointly organised by the MBPJ and Puncak Ventures SRA Sdn Bhd, with cooperation from the Selangor Para Athletes Association.
