KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 — JM Corporation Bhd’s shares on Bursa Malaysia rose in early session today after its wholly owned subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd secured a RM1.4 billion contract to build the group’s largest and fourth data centre in Johor Bahru.

As at 9.48 am, the counter rose 8.0 sen to RM3 with a total of 4.995 million shares changing hands.

Public Investment Bank Bhd said the win underscores IJM’s strong technical expertise and ability to deliver fast-track data centre projects.

“We are encouraged by the contract; we keep our forecasts unchanged, as it aligns with our order book replenishment assumption of RM8 billion,” it said in a note.

Meanwhile, RHB Investment Bank Bhd said the latest job win is within its financial year 2026 job target assumption of RM5 billion.

“Upcoming potential wins may stem from data centres in the Klang Valley, and the civil servant housing contract in Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara,” it said.

In a statement on Friday, IJM said the project, scheduled for completion in September 2026, comprises a six-storey facility with integrated office facilities, a refuse and recycling facility.

“With a gross floor area of 667,361.8 sq ft, IJM Construction will deliver the full civil and structural works using a pre-cast system, columns, beams and hollow core slabs, supported by steel structures for mechanical and electrical plant installations,” it said.

This latest win adds RM1.4 billion to IJM Construction’s order book, boosting it to RM9.2 billion from RM7.6 billion as at March 31, 2025.

The research house said IJM’s pipeline includes multiple data centres, electrical and electronic manufacturing facilities, and logistics hubs, sectors driving the group’s growth in high-value industrial and digital infrastructure.
