SELAYANG, Aug 12 — The state’s free Ambulans Kita Selangor service is set to launch by December.
State executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the Selangor government is discussing implementation with other parties to ensure it does not overlap with existing ambulance services.
“We are discussing the types of cases that will be accepted, which will likely involve non-emergency cases such as bedridden patients … We are refining the terms and conditions to ensure the service is targeted at those who truly need it,” she told Media Selangor after touring Selgate Specialist Hospital Rawang here yesterday.
On July 21, Jamaliah said the Ambulans Kita Selangor initiative will be implemented soon to more effectively support the state’s healthcare system, offering free non-emergency services to those in need.
These include medical appointments, follow-up treatments, and periodic treatment sessions at hospitals and certified centres.
She said St John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM) Selangor will serve as the initiative’s strategic partner.
Ambulans Kita Selangor was announced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when tabling the 2025 Selangor State Budget on November 15 last year, with a total allocation of RM1 million.
