KLANG, Aug 11 — In the lead-up to the 68th National Day and Malaysia Day, GM Klang Wholesale City proudly presents Ritma Merdeka, a vibrant event that blends culture, creativity, and community into one exciting celebration. Happening August 30 at the Podium, Ground Floor, Block B, GM Klang, the event promises a day of colourful, family-friendly activities for all.
Kicking off the event will be an energetic Aerodance Merdeka session, featuring over 100 participants grooving to patriotic rhythms. This dynamic will continue with fun-filled activities where kids can unleash their inner artists at the Merdeka hand fan workshop, along with nostalgic traditional games like congkak and ceper to rekindle fond childhood memories.
Visitors will also be treated to cultural showcases, such as kompang performances and multi-ethnic traditional dances, a powerful reflection of Malaysia’s unity in diversity. Adding to the festive mood, GM Klang’s beloved mascots, Gina and Mat, will be making special appearances to delight families and create photoworthy moments.
Taking the spotlight is the highly anticipated Pertandingan Pertunjukan Fesyen Lestari Merdeka, a sustainable fashion runway competition inviting individuals and duos to flaunt their most creative styled outfits made from recyclable materials. More than just a fashion show, it is a platform that champions eco-conscious innovation while instilling patriotic pride in a fun, fresh format. Participants stand a chance to win a total prize pool worth RM2,000, including RM200 for Best Individual and RM300 for Best Duo, along with exclusive hampers and special tokens for outstanding designs.
