SHAH ALAM, Aug 11 — Selangor-produced goods are proving their mettle on the world stage now that the state is helping local entrepreneurs export their products, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
The state is also exporting six cooking oil products under its own brand, Ehsan, to Australia.
He said the range, produced by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), includes sunflower oil and margarine, with the first shipment of about 30 tonnes sent in two containers under a partnership with Ego U19.
“I hope PKPS can play a strategic role in driving the state’s food industry across the entire chain from farm to market. With a fresh and hopeful approach, we send the message to the people that local products can compete globally, even at premium quality,” Amirudin said in a post on X.

Although in the premium category, Amirudin said these products are offered in limited quantities in the domestic market.
The export milestone was announced alongside the launch of 12 locally produced frozen food products under Ehsan, including Popia Carbonara, Popia Sayur, Samosa Ayam, Karipap Ayam, Roti Paratha and Roti Boom.
Amirudin said the initiative strengthens the state’s food supply chain, provides quality options for consumers, creates more jobs for local youth, and raises the profile of Selangor brands internationally.
