Licence applications among MBSJ services blocked if arrears not settled

SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 — The i-Sekat system implemented by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), which came into effect on July 1, requires applicants to settle any outstanding arrears before their applications can be processed.

The council said that the system will automatically restrict access to services, including licence and permit applications, facility bookings, and technical matters.

“This restriction will be imposed if customers have outstanding dues related to assessment tax, traffic compounds, various other fines, asset rentals, or council water bills.

“Among the services that will be affected include applications for business licences, advertisement permits, hall or field bookings, and development matters requiring technical approval from the council,” it in a Facebook post tonight.

In light of this, MBSJ advises all customers to settle their arrears early to ensure their applications are not delayed.

“Payments can be made through the Ezy MBSJ Portal or the Ezy MBSJ App, while the i-Sekat status can be easily checked by scanning the provided QR code,” it said.
