KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — The body of a man was found with hands and feet bound and head wrapped in cloth near a railway track in Sungai Serian, Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor today.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt Ibrahim Husin said a member of the public discovered the body at 10.30am.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the body is believed to have been dumped from the Kampung Sungai Serian bridge, which is 11.15 metres high.
“Forensic investigations revealed that the victim’s hands and feet were tied, while his head was wrapped in cloth and secured with black and white adhesive tape,” he said in a statement.
A physical examination by the forensics team indicated that the man had been dead for more than four days, as the body had begun to decompose. No identification documents were found on the body.
“The body has been sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” Ibrahim said.
He urged members of the public who had information to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Insp Mohamad Fadli Abdul Aziz at 03-6064 1222.
