Police: Woman's body found under Sg Klang bridge believed to be missing college student

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — The body of a woman found under the Sungai Klang bridge on Monday (July 28) is believed to be linked to a missing person’s report involving a private college student.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said his department received the missing person’s report on Saturday (July 26) from the victim's sister after she was unable to contact her sister since the previous day.

"The investigation found that the victim's sister was asked by her 23-year-old sister to pick her up at the Putra Heights LRT station at noon on July 25, but the victim was unreachable," he said in a statement today.

Azlan added that the post-mortem conducted yesterday on the body at the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang found no signs of a struggle or criminal elements on the victim's body, but the full report is still awaiting laboratory results.

Further examination of the victim's body found a key in her pocket. Subsequently, the police searched a house believed to be the victim's residence in the Jalan Klang Lama area.

"The results of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) review found that the victim was in the area before being reported missing," he said.

The initial identification by the next of kin confirmed that the clothing on the woman’s body matched the victim's belongings, but identity verification is still pending fingerprint matching results.

On Monday, the body of an unidentified woman was found lying face down on rocks under the Klang River bridge near Jalan Jurutera, Puchong, at 11.58am. However, an examination of the body did not reveal any identification documents or personal belongings.
