KLANG, July 29 — The Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) will be tabled to the public in June next year, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the plan will ensure the state is on the right track.
“When the RS-1 was being formulated, I asked all district officers and local authorities to log activities in their respective areas and their focuses.
“From there, we created economic clusters and implemented the RS-1 with consideration to regional development as a strategy, by looking at a locality based on its economy and community.
“We will table the RS-2 next June based on existing data. It is important for it to be tabled to the people, to shape their thinking and direction more accurately, including in agriculture,” Amirudin said when met at the launch of the Selangor Agriculture Census Interim Report 2024 today.
The Selangor executive council and Amirudin, during a retreat on February 28, discussed the RS-1’s performance based on several main indicators. They also covered the early framework for the RS-2, which will be the state’s new development track from 2026 and ensure Selangor remains an economic leader.
The RS-1, announced in July 2022, aimed to shape a sustainable, resilient economy to ensure the people’s well-being and to achieve the state’s aspiration to contribute 30 per cent of the national gross domestic product for 2025.
Covering several megaprojects including the Sabak Bernam Development Area and the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor, the RS-2 is also a plan to face a global economy that is expected to lag next year.
