SHAH ALAM, July 25 — The Selangor government has said it won’t hold fewer Ehsan Rahmah Sales (JER) following the announcement of an additional allocation of RM300 million to expand the Rahmah Madani Sales initiative.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the initiatives will be coordinated to ensure the JER, which offers basic goods at low prices, can be enjoyed by all in Selangor.
“We will look at their implementation (Rahmah Madani Sales) and we will coordinate, we will not pull back on our efforts as we know more people will benefit from the federal and state government programmes,” he said.
He was met after the launch of Ehsan brand frozen products here today.
Yesterday, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said his ministry is aiming to hold 20,000 sales events nationwide in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, as well as more than 600 state constituencies and 40 zones in the Federal Territories.
According to Armizan, the three main improvements are increasing the frequency of sales in all parliamentary and state constituencies, increasing the types of basic necessities according to local needs and festive seasons, and expanding the involvement of strategic partners.
