KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his condolences to the next of kin of the family of six who were found dead in a car in Sungai Korok near Jitra, Kedah, today.
He said the incident had a profound impact on all Malaysians, especially when it involved the entire family, including young children.
“I was heartbroken when I heard the news about the tragedy that befell a family of six who were found in a submerged vehicle in Sungai Korok, Alor Setar, this morning.
“To the next of kin, I pray that you continue to be strong in facing this ordeal. Let us all pray that their souls will be placed among the faithful," Zahid said in a Facebook post today.
He also expressed his appreciation to the fire brigade, the police, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and all parties who have worked hard in the search and rescue efforts since the incident was reported, praying that the identification and management of the remains would be facilitated.
The mystery of the disappearance of the family of six since Saturday (July 5) was finally solved when the next of kin confirmed that the bodies found in the car in Sungai Korok were those of the family involved.
The victims were husband and wife Mohamad Azim Izat Ishak, 32; Nurul Hidayah Khadijah Razman Efendi, 31; and their children Putra Rayyan Nur Izzat, nine; Hawa Adriana Nur Izzat, eight; Annayla Humaira Nur Izzat, seven; and Tuah Haydar, six months.
