SHAH ALAM, July 6 — A total of 127 Hajj pilgrims from the Kota Anggerik state constituency have received the 2025 Selangor Muassasah Hajj Incentive worth RM1,000.

Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the contribution from the state government through the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) Foundation, or MBI, will hopefully help cover the pilgrims’ expenses upon completing their pilgrimage.

“Previously, the contribution was RM500. Now, the state government has increased it to RM1,000. We hope this will assist the pilgrims with their expenses after returning from the Hajj.

"Alhamdulillah, all pilgrims from Kota Anggerik have returned home safely,” he said.

Najwan was speaking to the press officiating the 2025 MBI-Kota Anggerik Muassasah Hajj Incentive presentation ceremony at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah today.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Abu Hassan Darusman, 58, said the contribution was a double blessing for him and his five children, all of whom were able to perform the Hajj together as a family this year.

“This RM1,000 assistance means a lot to us. Some of my children are still studying, so when the new semester starts, this money can be used to pay their fees and other needs.

“We are truly grateful to receive RM1,000 each. It is a blessing for our whole family. We found out about this programme via WhatsApp; the application process was simple, and approval was also easy,” he said.

Applications for the incentive, which targets 6,000 pilgrims with a total allocation of RM6 million this year, remain open until 25 July. Pilgrims may apply through their respective state constituency service centres or state constituency coordinators.

Last year, the incentive amount was raised to RM1,000, benefiting 6,000 recipients. In comparison, only 3,000 Hajj pilgrims received RM500 each in both 2022 and 2023 from the state government.
