Don't leave without investing one pct in Selangor, MB urges investors

SHAH ALAM, June 30 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has urged regional investors to commit at least one per cent of their portfolios to Selangor, as it is a state which is equally invested in the long-term growth of its economy and its people.

This message was conveyed to 40 investors who attended the Invest Asean-Malaysia Conference 2025 today, where he also shared the state's readiness to drive economic progress.

"Their (investors') interest in our plans reflects growing confidence in the state’s direction from industrial zones to infrastructure and people-first development.

"With over RM57.7 trillion in assets under management (AUM) represented across Asean this week, I reminded our investors, do not leave without committing at least one per cent to Selangor!" he said in a post on social media today.

Amirudin added that attracting investment is only part of the equation, with the state equally focused on stronger collaboration and ties.

This initiative aims to expand the middle class, improve infrastructure, and ensure that essential services, including housing, transport, childcare, and healthcare, remain accessible to all.

"Our state is ready. From KLIA Aeropolis to the Third Port in Carey Island and the new growth zones — the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss) and the Sabak Bernam Development Area (Sabda) — we are not just imagining the future; we are building it.

"InsyaAllah, let us make Asean the global model for inclusive growth together" he said.
