KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 — Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (Intelligence/Operations) DCP Datuk Fadil Marsus has been appointed as the department’s acting director, effective tomorrow.
He replaces Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, who has been transferred to the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), effective the same date.
The handover-of-duties ceremony was held at the Theatrette Hall in Bukit Aman, witnessed by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.
In his speech, Khalid said Shuhaily’s appointment was a mark of honour for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), as he had been entrusted to lead another crucial agency responsible for safeguarding the nation's security.
“This is no small responsibility, and I believe it is a significant trust that he must now carry. PDRM will extend its full and unwavering support to ensure these duties are carried out effectively and with integrity.
Meanwhile, Shuhaily expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all PDRM personnel, especially the CID team, for their unwavering support and encouragement during his tenure as the department’s director, which spanned one year and 11 months.
“This is certainly not a goodbye, but the beginning of a new chapter in my career. The synergy between PDRM and AKPS will be the driving force behind the government’s efforts to strengthen border control and ensure its success,” he said in his speech.
